Description

R&D factory

The TU-Darmstadt is researching, among other things, the topic of "Saving energy in industrial production through optimal energy use". A model factory with offices and a lecture room for research and teaching was built for this purpose. A thermally active building envelope element for prefabricated industrial buildings was developed for this project. This is a mineral-bonded element made of concrete that is thermally activated by means of capillary tube mats integrated close to the surface. In addition to the innovative exterior façade consisting of thermally active walls, the interior concrete ceiling was also equipped with capillary tube mats integrated close to the surface.

Clina supplied around 450 m² of capillary tube mats for this research project.
